Ryan Hatch attended Mount St. Charles Academy in Woonsocket, RI where he was a three-year Varsity player. During that time, he captured three state championships, was named 1st team All-State twice, and 2nd team All-State once. Upon graduating from high school, Ryan played for the Lone Star Cavalry in the North American Hockey League (NAHL). After his first year of Junior hockey the team was moved to Santa Fe, NM where he played for the Santa Fe Roadrunners.
Following his two seasons of junior hockey, Ryan attended Canisius College for a season before transferring to Salem State where he held the starting goaltender position for the next three years. During that time Ryan was named athlete of the week on four occasions, as well as winning the ECAC-East goalie of the week three times. In addition, Ryan was a two-time MVP for the team and was named ECAC-East goalie of the year following his senior season.
At the close of his collegiate career, opportunities were presented to play professionally, however, Ryan decided that it was time to hang up the pads and pursuit his true calling in coaching and help young athletes in the sport he loves.
In 2008 Ryan began as an intern at RB Hockey, and in 2009 became the Goalie Director for then RB Goalie, a position he held for two years before making the tough decision to depart the hockey world. In 2017, after a few years away, Ryan decided his passion for coaching was too strong and he took the Goalie Director position for NETS Goaltending in Cromwell, CT. Responsible for coaching multiple junior and youth programs, Ryan’s impassioned coaching style, and ability to relate to goalies of all ages and skill, helped him elevate the level of play for all of his goalies.
Ryan is also the Goalie Coach for the UMass Boston Beacons Men’s Ice hockey program.
He is very excited to bring his coaching style back to all of the goalies at Northeast Goalie Development.
