Tom Murphy
During the 2015-16 season, Murphy was part of a coaching staff that led teh Beacon’s to their first New England Hockey Conference Regular Season and Conference Tournament Titles since 1982 and helped the Beacons to their first-ever NCAA Frozen Four.
Murphy returned to the Boston area after spending a decade coaching junior and youth hockey across the country. The former Curry College Colonel (’93), has coached all over the southwest including leading the Texas Tornado of the North American Hockey League to four Robertson Cup titles.
He spent eights years with the Tornado over two separate stints, while also spending time with the Wichita Falls Wildcats (NAHL), the University of Oklahoma club ice hockey team and the Walpole Stars (EJHL).
In addition to stints at the junior and collegiate level, Murphy has spent the past five years working with USA Hockey at various levels. He has worked with the USA Hockey Selected Under-16 team since 2009, in addition to stints with the USA Hockey Select Under-14 team and positions with the Rocky Mountain District and Northern Plains District branches of the USA Hockey program.
A 1993 graduate of Curry College, Murphy earned his Masters of Science in Education from Curry in 1999.
